August 2016 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

An ideal opportunity for some multi-tasking this morning…  why not crunch out our latest newsletter whilst standing in line to vote!

The last four months of the year are the busiest time in our club’s calendar, so please be sure to diarize some important dates and events that I will share with you in the mail below.

1.  WELCOME:

March 2016 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

And in the blink of an eye, the first 2 months of 2016 have whizzed by in a blur.

It’s always a frenetic  time in the life of our club, as we shake off the festive hangovers, re-introduce ourselves to our racquets, run social leagues, sort out our entries for the tennis and squash leagues seasons, and plan the social calendar for the year.

March 2015 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

Eish!!!  And the blur continues. We’re into March... hells bells, it feels like it was just yesterday when I was tucking into second helpings (or was it thirds?) of Christmas turkey!

For those of you who have Irish roots, here’s wishing you a happy St Patricks Day today. Whilst my roots are from Scotland, I am wearing a green shirt today as a show of solidarity with my Gaelic brethren.

January 2015 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

Belated compliments of the season to you and yours. I trust you’ve all recovered from  your festive festivities and are getting back to the grindstone of work and slog. Here’s wishing 2015 is a great year for all of us!

I’ll start the year of gently, in terms of Newsletter content.  Just a few quickies in terms of housekeeping, and keeping you abreast of some happenings in the life of our club in January and February.

December 2014 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

Unlike my usual “war-and-piece” epic newsletters, this final one for 2014 will be short and festively sweet  - seeing as I’m about to trek off with my family for a week of camping on the Berg River, and I’m under strict instructions from Lianne to leave my significant other, DELL, behind!!  J

June 2016 Newsletter

Hi LSClubbers

I’m going to make a rare exception to my usual epic “War & Peace” newsletter tribunals, and keep this one punchy and precise!

(And that’s a combination of me being a pit pressed for time, having just landed in London and waiting to catch my uber, and the fact that I’m doused with a cocktail of flu medication, so my creative juices are running a tad empty today!)

I promise to return to form with my next newsletter, because I know how much you all look forward to my 101-page monologues!!!  J

Annual Squash Awards

I am extremely proud and humbled to let you all know that Llandudno Sports Club picked up 6 awards at last night’s WP Squash Annual Awards Ceremony.

It was an glitzy evening much akin to the Oscars - the red carpet was rolled out at Pigalle, the ladies were dolled up in spunky evening dresses and the men were looking dapper and suave in formal collar and tie.

Tennis Court Lights Rules

Hi LSClubbers

It with great pride and pleasure that I can confirm that the project to install the floodlights on our lower tennis court has been completed.

Results from LSC Tennis Club Champs Finals Day

We finally got some “strawberries and cream” weather today to hold our 2012 LSC Tennis Club Champs Finals Day, and the action on court was just as spectacular as the stunning Llandudno views under clear blue skies and blazing hot sunshine.

Well done to all our finalists, and congrats to our Champions.

CUP Competition:

Michelle Dutton successfully defended her Ladies Singles title, defeating Tracy Morris 2-0.
